FAQ’s

Where are you located?

We are located at 52057 Sierra Drive Chesterfield, MI 48047. Just off of 23 Mile Road about a half mile East of I-94.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept many forms of payment. You can pay by cash, check or credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover).  We even accept Trade First.

Can we make up a class if we miss a day?

Yes! American Gymnastics offers unlimited make up classes. If your child misses a class, you can call the front desk and schedule a make-up class any other day that the class is offered.  We encourage students to attend their regular classes as often as possible so that their coaches can properly assess their skill level.

How old does my child have to be to start a class at AGI?

We have “parent-tot” classes offered for children as soon as they start walking until they are three years of age.

What does my child need to wear to class?

Comfortable athletic wear is acceptable such as shorts and a t-shirt (no denim). Many students wear leotards although they are not required. Your child must be bare foot (no shoes, no socks, no tights, etc.).  And if your child has long hair, it must be pulled back into a pony tail. No jewelry. Students need to bring a water bottle with their name on it to class. Water ONLY.

Do you offer birthday parties?

Yes, American Gymnastics is a great place to host your little ones birthday party. The kids have a blast running, jumping and playing with two of our coaches while you relax. Click here for more information about Birthday Parties and how to reserve one today.

Do you have to be a member to attend an Open Gym, Toddler Time or Flipout?

No, our Open Gym, Toddler Time and/or Flipouts are open to the public, as well as our members. Everyone is welcome.

Does AGI offer discounts for more than one child?

Yes, American Gymnastics offers a family discount. You will receive 10% off the tuition of the second child, and 15% off the tuition of the third child. This discount excludes special events.

Can a parent stay and watch their child in class?

Yes, although it is not required. While parents are not allowed in the gym (except for parent-tot classes), we do have a parent viewing area for you to stay and watch your little one practice.

Do you offer a payment plan?

American Gymnastics offers a continuous enrollment program with easy monthly payments. Your family’s monthly payment will be automatically deducted from the debit or credit card that we have on file on the 25th of the month for the following month. You are financially responsible for your child’s tuition until you unenroll them with the front desk regardless of attendance. On a calendar year, four classes per month is typical. If there are five classes in a month your tuition will not increase. If there are three classes in a month, your tuition will not decrease.

 

Isn't gymnastics a girl's sport?

While gymnastics is a very common girls sport, it’s actually also a very popular boys sport, too. Participating in the sport of gymnastics can promote positive effects in the following areas:

  • Builds coordination
  • Builds strength – particularly upper-body strength
  • Increases kinesthetic awareness – the ability to know where the body is in relation to space and motion (situation awareness)
  • Increases flexibility – which aides in skill learning and injury prevention
  • Builds self-confidence
